My wife and I watched a musical about the life of Noah last night. What struck me about Noah’s story was when God closed the door of the ark as the rain started pouring down. People were outside the door wanting in when they realized that Noah’s warnings from God became reality and judgement wasContinue reading “Last Day”

Living the Abundant Life
Sometimes we break life up into workable compartments, like that’s my personal life or that’s my work life. Or you may suggest to me to get a life if I spent too much time by myself. But what is meant by “eternal life,” and how do we get the most out of it? That’s whatContinue reading “Living the Abundant Life”
A Marriage to Never End
It’s hard to believe that my wife and I will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary this year. I can remember our wedding day like it was just yesterday. Time flies by. A wedding is meant to be final. Our vows are to be taken seriously when I declare to the world that I chooseContinue reading “A Marriage to Never End”
The Day After Easter
I’m a believer! I believe in the life, the death, the burial and resurrection of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Now what? What are we called to do the day after Easter? Was Jesus’ death on a Roman cross the end of the story or was it just the beginning of a new chapterContinue reading “The Day After Easter”
The Sower’s Dream
Once upon a time, there was a plant nursery called Sam’s. Now Sam’s sold all sorts of a variety of seeds. There were seeds for flowers, herbs, vegetables, and trees. When Eternity is Brought to Life
My wife purchased a seafront picture frame to go with the nautical theme in our bathroom. The picture features a quote from Henry David Thoreau that says, “Live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.” What Henry David Thoreau means by this quote is quite beyond me. But,Continue reading “When Eternity is Brought to Life”

Did you notice in the picture above that Santa seems a little shocked? He just found out that he was a spiritual being. Yeah, no kidding! But, did you know you are a spiritually being? Alright, before you get all shook up about it. Let me explain. Dallas Willard, the author of the book, DivineContinue reading “The Spirit of Christmas”
Arriving Home
Looking back at my younger years, I like to reminisce about the drive home from my grandma’s house. During weekend visits to my grandma’s house, I would play with my cousins who lived across the street from my grandma. The weekend would be nonstop fun — baseball in the backyard, bike riding, baseball cards, freshContinue reading “Arriving Home”
A Place We Call the Zoo
Recently, my wife and I visited a local zoo. The weather was beautiful, temperatures in the mid 80’s and plenty of sunshine. Since the weather was nice, there was a whole bunch of people who had the same idea — to go to a place we call the zoo. So, my mind wanders as itContinue reading “A Place We Call the Zoo”
