On a fine, sunshiny day, I was conversing with God. Just about life, nothing really serious. Just chit-chat. And then this thought popped into my head, and I asked Him, “Heavenly Father, will you show me a place — a place somewhere where I have never been before?”
Father replied, “Sure, take a hold of my hand.” So, I held His hand, and immediately we were whisked away to a waiting room in a hospital, where a very young version of my earthly father, Timothy, was pacing the waiting room floor. Then the doctor arrives and states, “Congratulations, you have a baby girl. You can now join your wife Sarah.” We followed Timothy to the room where the mother and baby girl were resting comfortably. Beaming radiantly, Sarah asked Timothy, “Do you want to hold her?” Nervously, Timothy whispered, “She’s so tiny. Yes, please, I want to gaze upon the miracle birth of our first child.” Timothy spoke his first words to his child, “Welcome to our world, little one. God has blessed us with your presence. As you will bring joy to our hearts, may we also bring joy to your heart as well.” Although Timothy doesn’t wear his emotions on his sleeves, he had to wipe away a few tears of joy as he was caught up in the miracle moment.
Then the Heavenly Father sent me back to the present time, and I thanked the Father for allowing me to witness the day of my birth in this world. So, my Heavenly Father asked me a question, “Will you show me a place — a place where I have never been before?” Astonished, I replied, “You’re God! Nothing is new to You!” As I gazed into His eyes, I understood what He meant. There was a piece of my heart that I was keeping just for myself, a kind of a dark, dingy place that even I don’t like to acknowledge. I said, “Why, Lord? Why do you want to go there?” He replied, “As the Creator of your heart, I can restore and bring healing again which also will bring you joy, but also brings joy to me as well.” Humbly, I responded, “Lord, bless me with your presence and create in me a clean heart so I can fully know you in a deeper way.” Never taking my gaze away from His eyes, I think I saw Him wipe a few tears away from His cheek.
It was a miracle moment.
Psalm 51:10-12
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right[b] spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
