We make choices every day. We choose to get out of bed in the morning. We choose to go to work. We choose to stay up late to watch another television show only to be tired the next morning. We choose where we sleep, what we eat, and what we wear. We choose who we spend our time with and what activities to fill our time. Some things are within our control and other things are not. In some parts of the world, choices are less available than in other parts. But this is our world — a world of choices.
If we make so many choices, then what does God choose?
First and foremost, God chooses life (John 10:10). He wants a life abundant for you and for me. Life abundant doesn’t necessarily mean health and wealth on this earth. It’s a surrendering of your will and replacing it with God’s will. As your Creator, God knows what type of life will give you purpose and fulfillment, but He knows you can’t do it with your own strength. By providing you with the Holy Spirit, God protects and guides you in this journey.
There is a call to His mission — to advance His kingdom by sharing His truth, love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, goodness and self-control on a world who has lost its way. For Jesus boldly states, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life” (John 14:6). So the choice is left to us: Do we acknowledge life offered by the One True God through the death, burial and resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ, or do we construct our own way leading to eternal separation from the One True God?
Acceptance of abundant life would be your best and most impactful choice upon this world and the world to come.
If you want to accept the abundant life offered by God, then simply ask God for this life. Stop in your tracks, turn around and face the living God so you can see with your eyes and hear with your ears. Taste the glorious life, receive the truth only offered by the One True God, and be healed.
The choice of the utmost consequence is in the balance. The choice on the one hand can define your destiny or on the other hand destroy it so see with your eyes and hear with your ears and understand with your heart to know the One True God.
And He will change your life forever.
Acts 28:27
For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’
