Okay, I admit it. I’m a softie, an old romantic, which is why I am guessing that God blessed me with a beautiful wife and two lovely daughters. With my family, there is no way of getting around watching romantic movies. We love to see the right girl meet the right guy and decide to take the plunge and get married.
God created marriage and said it is good. He also uses marriage as illustration of how our relationship is and will be in the future with Him. Jesus calls the Church—His bride, flowing in white, glowing with beauty—flawless. When He returns to this earth, He will take the Church’s hand and put His ring on her finger to signify His everlasting covenant. A covenant that will never be broken, in which Jesus and the Church will always be together.
Lately, this world is falling apart, even more than usual. So, longing for the return of Jesus becomes even more in the forefront of my mind, awaiting for the wedding day when the right guy marries the right girl.
Below is a song from Train called “Marry Me” that I feel expresses my thoughts noted above.
Revelation 19:7 “Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.“
